ATTIC INSULATION

ATTIC INSULATION

Attic insulation is the most important portion for the whole house , because the hot air raised up when furnace generated it , and increasing attic insulation is not only to make sure your house to come hotter in the winter , cooler in the summer , and also when heat escapes through your attic , it can cause melting snow faster than before on your roof, and leading to excessive condensation , adding attic insulation for your house is similar to adding “blanket” for your family and you , to keep your house warmer during winter season , and cooler during summer season.

WHAT IS R-VALUE AND HOW DOES IT RELATED WITH INSULATION?

As a matter of the fact , it is so important for insulation in your attic is installed with the right R-Value. Insulation in your attic helps provide resistance to heat or cold air transferring from attic area to living room and bedroom underneath attic area and then reducing your monthly cooling and heating costs. Your insulation’s ability to resist the transfer of heat/cold is measured by R-Value. Meaning, the higher an insulation’s R-value, the better the ability to withstand the flow of heat or cold. It is important to note that the R-Values are not directly related to the thickness of the insulation, but it is however compared to the number of fibres per square inch or the density of insulation. Due to insulation requirement is getting higher and higher , Ontario Building Code continuously increases requirements of R-Value for attic insulation,   in 1992 the minimal value was around R-32, and in 2018 it is recommended to be at least  R-50.  So that is why if your home is over 25 years old and insulation in your attic has never been upgraded the likelihood that your R-Value between 15 – 30 is very high since insulation materials settle over time. Moreover, if your house built in the early ’70s, it might have a little bit of insulation in the attic or even empty cavities between the joists. Therefore you would need to bring it to today’s’ standards by adding the top-up layer

BLOWN IN INSULATION

Blown in insulation or loose-fill insulation is made of small Particles of glass fiber  which is naturally non-combustible and moisture-resistant material , it will benefit for the home owners at lower cost for monthly fuel cost such as natural gas , or propane or electricity  to operate heating and cooling equipment ,  the technician Uses blowing machine to blow small particles of insulation material into hard-to-reach areas like attics spaces. since topping up insulation to existing attic area , irregularly shaped area , and around obstruction It is an effective way to improve a home’s energy efficiency, comfort, and sound dampening

GARAGE CEILING INSULATION

Garage ceiling insulation is blown in by blowing machine with fiber glass material , it can fill the gap , hollow space between existing dry wall ceilings of garage and spray form which is underneath of subfloor on living room or bed room above garage , it is also called exposed floor insulation and it will reach at least R-20 value , and it will resistance for cool temperature to transfer from garage area which is also  called unheated area to the living room or bedroom above garage ceiling . it can increase home comfort ,reducing energy cost for monthly utility bill .
